Amanda and Ricky had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at her parents' home in Easton, MD. I love being out on the eastern shore, it's so peaceful out there. Plenty of open space, horses, sprawling farmland... it's fantastic. Amanda's mother Kat had arranged for two large tents on their property - one for the ceremony and one for the reception. It was a pretty warm day outside, but there was enough of a breeze that nobody seemed to mind the heat.
After the ceremony, Amanda and Ricky did their formal pictures and then took a quick ride to the hospital to visit Amanda's grandfather, who was too ill to come to the wedding. After they got back, we quickly moved through introductions and toasts, and the guests enjoyed a fabulous summertime meal by Garden and Garnish Caterers. Everyone seemed to have a great time dancing and catching up with old friends, and the party continued long after the reception was officially finished and I had packed up and left.
Ricky had recently returned from Iraq, where he had served with several of the groomsmen and guests. His choice of "I Miss My Friend" by Darryl Worley as the first dance (it was "their song" while he was away) even choked me up. I really appreciated the opportunity to work with you two, have a wonderful life together!!
