I had a great time traveling to historic Newport News, Virginia, for the multicultural wedding celebration of Richa and Thomas at the Marriott at City Center. The city really fit with the July 4th theme, amid a backdrop of fireworks downtown. Richa and Thomas kicked things off with a beautiful, traditional Indian ceremony, with Indian classical fusion tracks used for the processional and recessional. During cocktails, guests seemed to really enjoy the fried Indian hors d'oeuvres provided by Nawab Indian Restaurant of Newport News.
Richa and Thomas had a very special first dance to Brad Paisley's "Then," and later, Richa and her father shared a sentimental dance to "Daughter" by Loudon Wainwright. Their guests were treated to a fantastic Punjabi-style dinner and had a great time dancing to a mix of Motown, 80s, and current pop, as well as lots of bhangra and Bollywood film music. I think at the end of the night, we all wanted the party to go on! Thanks again to Richa and Thomas for hosting such an incredible party!
