Last night, Jeff and I went to Washingtonian Magazine's "Best of Washington" party at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. If you haven't been to this party, it's pretty amazing! Dozens of the best restaurants in DC bring their best food, there are specialty cocktails and wine, and a silent auction. We had upgraded tickets that got us in at 6pm, which was fantastic - we got to enjoy all of the great food before the huge mass of guests came in.
The National Building Museum itself is incredible, it's one of the largest indoor venues in DC. It's roughly the size of a football field, and the ceilings are at least 150 feet high in the center. So who did Washingtonian Magazine bring in to plan this shindig? None other than my old pal Aimee Dominick of a. dominick events. I can't possibly imagine how hard it would be to deal with that many people, that many vendors, and that many moving parts for an event that large, but Aimee and her team did a spectacular job.
For me, the highlight of the food was from Indique Heights, I love Indian food and they always put a cool twist on old classics. Jeff loved the Beef Tartare from Charlie Palmer Steak and the signature ginger sake cocktail on the bar.
Overall, this was a lot of fun and it was great seeing some wedding industry pals while we were there - we're definitely coming back next year!
