Couple: Tom and Jennifer Wedding Date: March 5th, 2011
DJ: Michael Bell
I had the privilege in early March to provide the soundtrack for Tom's and Jennifer's wedding at the St. Francis Hall in Washington DC. The Renaissance architecture, beautiful yet subtle lights lining the hall's archways, and the stunning white orchid centerpieces all combined to create a breathtaking atmosphere. Many thanks to Michelle Frankfurter for capturing the night in such detail and for providing us with these images.
The couple shared their first dance to "We Have All The Time In The World" by Louis Armstrong, and their cocktail hour consisted of equally romantic, classic jazz. The rest of the evening was full of upbeat and unique songs, as their playlist ranged from '80s rarities to indie dance. There were even a few old school hip-hop tracks! It was clear that Jennifer and Tom put a lot of work into crafting a playlist that represented their tastes perfectly.
Guests dined on a delicious meal of filet mignon or salmon, prepared by the talented team at Corcoran Caterers. As always, Corcoran did a tremendous job with preparing the food, and their presentation was flawless.
Xhemil Kojcini at St. Francis Hall kept everything running smoothly and the whole night turned out spectacularly. At one point, some of the little children even had a chance to get out onto the dance floor to form their own dance circle. Tom's and Jennifer's guests really seemed to enjoy hearing some new and rare songs they hadn't heard before.
Tom and Jennifer hosted a truly beautiful event, and it's really touching to know that their eight year relationship culminated in such a perfect night. I wish Tom and Jennifer the best of luck in their new lives and thank them for the chance to cater to their incredible taste in music.
