Alex and Chris hosted a gorgeous ceremony and reception at Strong Mansion at Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson, Maryland on May 27, 2012. Throughout their planning, they were a joy to work with -- they were really into a wide variety of music, which we love, and they trusted our DJ Brian Jones to do a great job of mixing their eclectic tastes and keeping everyone on their feet throughout the night! We had a fantastic vendor team for Alex's and Chris' wedding celebration: Chris Kefauver and the staff at Strong Mansion were as wonderful as always, as was Mike Delphey and the Canapes Catering team. Photographer Rodney Bailey did an incredible job documenting the wedding, and was kind enough to share these gorgeous images -- thanks, Rodney!
We love this portrait of Alex and Chris -- they are so natural on camera!
Celebrated String Quartet performed a beautiful set of ceremony music, while we handled sound reinforcement and microphones.
Strong Mansion's exterior is so pretty, especially after sunset!
Chris' guitarist friend Matt did a wonderful job with a set of bluegrass music during the reception -- we love working with live musicians and do it often!
After introductions to James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)," Alex and Chris shared their first dance as husband and wife to The Turtles' "Happy Together" -- a truly fun, whimsical selection! Later, Alex and her dad and Chris and his mom enjoyed a special parent dance to Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour."
Canapes Catering did a gorgeous job on Alex's and Chris' wedding cake!
Later, it was time for DJ Brian Jones to do what he does best: keep the dance floor packed! Alex and Chris chose an upbeat set of oldies, 70s, 80s, 90s and current tunes to balance their bluegrass, Latin and indie cocktail/dinner playlist.
We love any wedding where we get to mix "U Can't Touch This," "Jai Ho" and "Born in the U.S.A."!
Alex and Chris, thanks so much again for including us in your wedding celebration -- it was one we'll never forget!
