Emily and Mike hosted a gorgeous wedding on August 11, 2012 at The Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington. Their photographer, Tracey Attlee, generously shared these fantastic images with us for our readers' wedding inspiration!
The happy couple shared a traditional wedding ceremony with classical music accompaniment, including Handel's "Air," Pachelbel's "Canon in D," and Vivaldi's "Spring."
After being introduced into their reception to The Travelling Wilburys' "Heading for the Light," Emily and Matt hit the dance floor to Bruce Springsteen's "The Little Things (My Baby Does)." Later, Emily and her dad shared a father/daughter dance to James Taylor's "You've Got a Friend," and Mike and his mom danced to "Forever Young" by The Band featuring Bob Dylan. We loved all of these sentimental song choices!
Barbara Von Elm of Growing Wild provided the gorgeous florals.
Everyone had a fantastic time during a lively hora, after which guests really got down to a fun mix of old and new music.
We'd be remiss if we didn't give Emily and Mike a special shoutout for their amazing cocktail and dinner music requests, which included an eclectic blend of artists such as The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, Sam Cooke, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, The Cure, Velvet Underground, My Morning Jacket, Nirvana, The Black Keys and The Beach Boys. DJ Van Petty was in heaven!
We are so grateful to Emily and Mike for having us perform for their special day -- we wish the two of you a lifetime of happiness together!
