Atrium at Meadowlark Gardens, as always, provided a gorgeous backdrop for a summer wedding celebration. We loved the pale blue bridesmaid's gowns and the contrast of the bright flowers, provided by Carly Johnson of Affordable Arrangements.
For their introductions, Catie and Cole chose some fantastic songs: Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" for their families and wedding party, and Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" for the bride and groom. This really set the tone for what was to come!
The couple then shared a special first dance as husband and wife to one of my personal favorites, "Such Great Heights" as performed by Iron & Wine.
Catie's and Cole's formalities included a father/daughter dance to Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter," a mother/son dance to Rascal Flatts' "My Wish," the cake cutting to Cake's "Short Skirt/Long Jacket," a bouquet toss to Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)," and a garter toss to Jay-Z's "99 Problems." Too much fun!
Then, it was really time to party, and Catie's and Cole's guests did an amazing job! The couple chose requests from all kinds of artists: Kool & The Gang, Madonna, R. Kelly, Ludacris, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nelly, Lil' Jon, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, Darude, Flo Rida and more. Clearly, their guests enjoyed the music!
Thanks again, Catie and Cole, and best wishes for all the happiness in the world! Thanks also to the great Washington, DC wedding professionals who helped make the evening that much more magical!
