When I’m not deejaying weddings, I can be found: Playing and writing music, cooking, bowling, and spending time with my wife and our two cats.
My other interests: Sports, fishing, philosophy, games of mental skill.
First dance songs I’m enjoying lately: “It’s Cold Outside” (Lowen & Navarro), “Make You Feel My Love” (Adele), “Ain’t That Love” (Ray Charles), “Into the Mystic” (Van Morrison), “Just the Way You Are” (Billy Joel).
Favorite music artists: Outkast, Avicii, Jason Mraz, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder, Zac Brown Band, Adele, Dr. Dre, Michael Buble, Miles Davis, Justin Timberlake.
Causes I support: ASPCA, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Going Green, and the New York Yankees!
A quote I live by: “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” – Henry David Thoreau
Best advice I ever received: “Practice makes perfect… unless you get it right the first time!”
Seven words that describe me: Funny, intelligent, charismatic, on-point, devoted, fun-loving, sports nut!
Five prized possessions I couldn’t live without: My wedding ring, central heat/AC, my 4-wheel drive, recordings of the a cappella groups I’ve performed with, pizza.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me: I once went to an Outkast concert featuring Ludacris and Xzibit, and pushed through the crowd in standing room only to the third row right in front of the stage.
On being a wedding DJ: “Performing music is something I’ve always been passionate about, but with weddings it’s so much more than that. I love being able to get to know a couple and work closely with them before the day, and then watching the best day of their lives unfold around them. Music helps to set the mood right from the start, and I really strive to ensure that the happy couple along with their guests have an unbelievable night to remember!
I love what I do, and I think the energy I put out every time I deejay a wedding is reflected in the reaction of the guests and just grows from there. Being a part of that moment is something that, for me, transcends music, and I can’t wait until the next time when I get to go to “work.”
